Our organization, Rural Infrastructure Services for Under-Served Population (RISE-UP) is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization located in Stafford Texas USA and Lagos NIGERIA to promote effective and innovative community-based solutions that creates self reliance, economic justice and food security

RISE-UP was founded in 2008 to help develop agriculture in the African settings knowing that rural agriculture is the strategic sector for stimulating development processes and poverty reduction in the poor countries of the continent. We focus on the development of rural small holders with a strong believe that they are the primary actor to poverty alleviation.  

Our Mission

Our mission is to develop the subsistence farmers in the rural communities, through a demand driven participatory approach with particular emphasis on women who are the key players in increasing agricultural production. We aim at providing community-based opportunities for families in the rural poor to work for and transform their lives by attacking the root causes of poverty.

Vision

To make significant contribution towards poverty alleviation in the rural areas in Africa towards the attainment of  Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

  Achieving the Millennium Development Goals, in particular the target to halve the proportion of people living in extreme poverty by the year 2015, will not be possible without significant increases in rural incomes and opportunities, which depend heavily on agricultural productivity

 Our project development objective therefore, is to support farmers living in poverty-stricken rural areas, and encourage them to transform their situation through their own efforts.
